nicholas went for a walk one day/
with a cardboard box to prepare the way/
for the paper doll jesus who makes him say/

set up a shrine to the plastic king/
say your prayers out loud with your bells to ring/
tell the cities to bow and the lost to sing/

crossing your fingers beside the dirt/
write your vagabond gospel upon your shirt/
hold your sign post up to declare the word/
